communiqué #19: server issues

"mother of mercy! is this the end of Rico ?"

MediaFire, this blog's usual server, was down for maintenance for a good part of yesterday. As you may have noticed, normal service has not as yet been resumed; although technical issues did appear to have been resolved earlier this morning GMT.

Unfortunately, I am currently unable to login to my account, and existing files are currently inaccessable for mediaplayer usage or direct download. The worse case scenario is that my account has been deleted, inadvertantly or otherwise.

In the meantime, I will shortly post an interlude independent of the aforementioned service.

ib - don't think it'll be your account gone, mine was first empty of files, then ok, then can't login due to updates, & now the whole site is under a Maintenance Progress:
Scheduled time: 11:00am to 1:00pm CST tag. again.

Cheers for that, HM!

I am increasingly alarmist in the wake of last year's DMCA crap and previous File Server deletions.

The same thing happened earlier - ie, empty of files - but I was unable to find any Maintenance Progress information...

Wait a minute... I'm with you now! Got it. Jesus. It took them long enough to post an alert, didn't it ?

seems to be a popular thing - Boxstr are off for three hrs tomorrow, but at least they're warning beforehand

MeiaFire has been very reliable - until just recently, that is. I think they were caught on the hop with technical issues after yesterday's upgrades, but they were incredibly slow to react or just hesitant to announce as much.

DivShare deleted several files last year without advising which one(s) prompted complaint. This was before Blogger responded with sweeping post deletions.

It's a bit of a lottery as to which service performs best. At least my files are back!

(Ever the pessimist).
