carl orff: musica poetica

Gassenhauer Für Kinder iii: the unreleased theme to"Badlands".
This piece is improvised around a composition for flute - from 1536 - by Gunild Keetman, under the mentorship of Carl Orff. Although inseparably associated with Terrence Malick's movie "Badlands", this recording can be found more readily on the Orff-Schulwerk - Volume 1" CD released on the Celestial Harmonies label, given that the soundtrack to the 1973 Martin Sheen/Sissy Spacek vehicle was never officially released. Despite overwhelming demand.

Generally credited to the Munich born, Orff - July 10, 1895 – March 29, 1982 - the score was later reworked and released on the soundtrack to 1993's "True Romance".

Confusing ? It certainly bubbled my head.
